Course overview

Move from guiding to teaching with the SSI Instructor Training programme on Fujairah's east coast, the closest open-water dive base to Dubai. Working from the calm, shore-accessible reefs around Dibba Rock and Snoopy Island, candidates rehearse academic, pool and open-water teaching presentations in forgiving conditions before the independent SSI Instructor Evaluation. You finish certified to teach SSI programmes and issue digital certifications worldwide.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• SSI Dive Guide or equivalent leadership rating from a recognised agency
• Certified diver for at least 6 months
• Logged dive experience meeting SSI professional requirements (typically 75+ dives)
• Valid first-aid and CPR certification
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Teaching foundations

   Orientation to the SSI Total Diving System and your first academic teaching presentations.
2. Day2
   Pool teaching workshops

   Demonstrate and teach core skills in the calm shallows off Snoopy Island and the sheltered bays.
3. Day3
   Open-water teaching

   Deliver open-water teaching circuits at Dibba Rock under trainer evaluation.
4. Day4
   Standards & risk management

   Work through SSI standards, risk management and the business of running courses.
5. Day5
   Theory & rescue assessment

   Sit dive-theory exams and complete the rescue assessment to instructor standard.
6. Day6
   Evaluation preparation

   Mock evaluations, presentation polishing and a full briefing for the SSI Instructor Evaluation.
