Course overview

Become a certified diver with the globally recognised SSI Open Water Diver course in Coron, one of the world's leading wreck-diving destinations. Over around three days in warm 27-29C water you complete digital theory, confined-water sessions and open-water training dives on sheltered Coron sites such as the Lusong Gunboat. You finish certified to dive to 18 metres with a buddy anywhere in the world.

What you’ll learn

• Set up, check and use complete scuba equipment
• Master essential skills including mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Achieve neutral buoyancy and stable trim
• Plan dives using a computer or tables
• Handle common problems and assist a buddy
• Dive independently with a buddy to a maximum of 18 metres

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (junior) or 15 for standard certification
• No prior experience required
• Able to swim and be comfortable in open water
• Complete a medical questionnaire; some conditions require a doctor's sign-off

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Complete the SSI digital theory and exam, then confined-water sessions to master the core skills.
2. Day2
   First open-water dives

   Make your first open-water training dives on sheltered Coron sites such as the Lusong Gunboat.
3. Day3
   Final dives & certification

   Complete the remaining open-water dives to 18 metres, demonstrate your skills and earn certification.
