Course overview

Get certified with the SSI Open Water Diver course in Cyprus, an internationally recognised qualification letting you dive with a buddy to 18 metres. You complete four open-water training dives in the warm, calm Mediterranean off Ayia Napa, learning in sheltered sites like Green Bay using SSI's flexible digital programme.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, use and maintain scuba equipment
• Perform core skills including mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Achieve neutral buoyancy and efficient trim
• Plan dives and manage your air supply
• Dive to a maximum of 18 metres with a buddy
• Respond to common underwater problems

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (junior version below 15)
• No prior certification required
• Comfortable in the water and able to swim
• Diver medical questionnaire (doctor sign-off if needed)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory and confined water

   Complete the SSI digital knowledge sessions and first confined-water skills in the shallows of Green Bay.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives 1 and 2

   Apply your skills on the first two open-water training dives in the calm Mediterranean.
3. Day3
   Open-water dives 3 and 4 and certification

   Finish the final two dives on local reef sites and complete certification.
