Earn your full diving certification with the SSI Open Water Diver course in Djibouti, a globally recognised qualification gained on the calm Gulf of Tadjoura where the Red Sea opens to the Indian Ocean. Through SSI's flexible digital learning, confined-water sessions and four open-water dives you learn to dive independently with a buddy to 18 metres, ready to explore the reefs and walls of this quiet Red Sea destination.
The SSI Open Water Diver certification is recognised worldwide and delivered through SSI's digital training system, qualifying you to dive independently with a buddy to 18 metres. It is the prerequisite for the SSI Advanced Adventurer programme.
Training uses the sheltered reef sites of the Gulf of Tadjoura, where calm-to-moderate conditions, light currents and warm 24-30°C water through the October-to-February peak make an ideal learning environment, with whale-shark sightings nearby in season.
