Course overview

Earn your globally recognised SSI Open Water Diver certification in the Seychelles, learning to dive in the warm, sheltered waters near Beau Vallon on Mahe. After confined-water skills you complete open-water dives on coral gardens and granite-boulder reefs that hold turtles, reef fish and rays. On completion you can dive to 18 metres with a buddy anywhere in the world.

What you’ll learn

• Set up, use and care for scuba equipment
• Perform all core safety and emergency skills
• Descend, ascend, equalise and master buoyancy
• Clear a mask, recover a regulator and share air
• Plan dives with a computer and dive within limits
• Dive with a certified buddy to 18 metres

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior) or 15 for the full rating
• No prior experience required
• Comfortable swimming and water skills
• Medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if indicated)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Digital academics and the first confined-water skills in the sheltered shallows near Beau Vallon.
2. Day2
   Confined-water mastery

   Finish the confined-water skill sessions and prepare for open-water diving.
3. Day3
   First open-water dives

   Two open-water dives on Mahe's coral gardens, applying skills among the marine life.
4. Day4
   Open-water dives & assessment

   Two final open-water dives on the granite-boulder reefs, knowledge assessment and certification.
