The SSI Scuba Skills Update refreshes existing divers rather than awarding a new certification, and is logged in the SSI app. SSI certifications do not expire, but a skills update is recommended after time away from diving.
The skills update uses Hikkaduwa's sheltered house reef in warm 27-29°C water, where calm conditions and good visibility through the November-to-April season give a stress-free environment to return to diving.
