Become a calmer, more capable diver with the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course in Cairns, learning to anticipate and resolve problems on the Great Barrier Reef. Through SSI's digital learning, heated-pool sessions and rescue scenarios on outer-reef liveaboard trips, you practise managing stress, assisting distressed divers and handling unresponsive-diver emergencies. The rating is a prerequisite for the SSI Divemaster pathway.
SSI Diver Stress & Rescue is delivered through SSI's digital platform with a focus on recognising and preventing stress, and it pairs with a current React Right certification. It is a required step toward the SSI Divemaster rating.
Pool sessions run in heated Cairns facilities. Open-water rescue scenarios are staged on liveaboard trips to outer Great Barrier Reef sites such as Flynn, Milln and Thetford Reefs, where calm-to-moderate conditions in the June-to-November season support clear technique work.
