Become a SSI Diver Stress & Rescue in north-male-atoll and learn to prevent and manage diving emergencies in the atoll's open-water and channel conditions. Through scenarios on resort house reefs and nearby sites you practise self-rescue, tired-diver tows and missing-diver searches. You come out a calmer, more capable buddy, and a step closer to professional ratings.
SSI Diver Stress & Rescue combines stress recognition with rescue technique and requires a current React Right (CPR/first aid) certification. It is a prerequisite for the SSI Divemaster programme.
Rescue scenarios are staged on north-male-atoll's sheltered house reefs and nearby open-water sites. Calm lagoons are available for skill practice before you progress to more exposed conditions. The diving season peaks from November to April, when visibility is best across the atoll's channels and reefs. Water stays warm at 27-30°C year-round, with moderate currents on the channel sites.
