Course overview

The SSI Scuba Diver certification covers the first part of the Open Water program and lets you dive to 12m under the guidance of an SSI professional. It suits visitors with limited time in Zanzibar who want a genuine certification for guided reef dives around Mnemba Atoll and Stone Town.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (junior)
• No prior certification required
• Basic comfort and ability in water
• Medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Academics & confined water

   Work through the first SSI academics and confined-water skills, then a first open-water dive near Mnemba to 12m.
2. Day2
   Open water & certification

   A second open-water training dive off Stone Town or Mnemba to complete the SSI Scuba Diver rating.
