Course overview

Take the SSI Wreck Diving specialty on Ambergris Caye to explore sunken sites safely along the Belize Barrier Reef. The program develops survey, mapping and line-handling skills across guided dives in the clear, calm Caribbean water off San Pedro.

What you’ll learn

• Plan wreck dives and assess site conditions
• Survey and sketch a wreck layout
• Use reels and lines for safe orientation
• Manage silt, entanglement and overhead hazards
• Refine buoyancy and trim around structures
• Select and rig suitable wreck equipment

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification
• Comfortable buoyancy and trim
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician
