The Mares Heavy Light Mounted System is a complete backmount harness set built around a marine-anodised 6061 aluminium backplate. It is configured to Hogarthian principles, which gives technical and experienced recreational divers a clean, streamlined rig with nothing dangling and gear placed where the hands reach for it.

Rather than a soft, padded recreational BCD, this is a backplate-and-harness platform: a continuous webbing harness threaded through the plate, dressed with the D-rings, sliders and buckle you need to clip off lights, SMBs, stages and accessories. The aluminium plate keeps the system light and corrosion-resistant while holding the rigid shape that makes trim and gas management predictable.

The set arrives ready to assemble, with the main harness webbing, crotch strap, elastic retainer loops and a full hardware kit of stainless-steel D-rings, sliding plates and the ventral buckle. It suits scuba divers who already understand backplate-and-wing diving and want a solid base to build their rig on.
