The backplate is the key feature: a rigid inner core for load-bearing stability, over-moulded with soft Monprene gel for comfort against your body. The harness and backpad shed water rather than soaking it up, so the BCD dries fast and packs light, which helps when you are flying to a dive trip.

Compared with the Hydros Pro, the Core has lower lift capacity and drops the integrated weight pockets and the rear trim-weight pockets to keep things minimal.
