Course overview

The PADI Advanced Open Water course is the natural next step for Coron, giving you access to the deeper WWII wrecks the destination is known for. Over five adventure dives in warm 27-29C water, including deep and navigation, you explore sites such as the Olympia Maru and Kogyo Maru and extend your depth limit to 30 metres. You finish a more capable diver, ready for Coron's signature wrecks.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to a maximum of 30 metres
• Navigate underwater using natural references and a compass
• Apply specialty skills such as wreck and peak performance buoyancy
• Manage deeper dives and monitor air, depth and time
• Build experience across five different adventure dives
• Improve buoyancy, trim and situational awareness

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior Advanced Open Water) or 15 for full certification
• PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician
• Comfortable with basic open-water skills

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep & navigation

   Complete the deep adventure dive to 30m and the underwater navigation dive on sites such as the Olympia Maru.
2. Day2
   Elective adventures

   Make three elective adventure dives, commonly wreck, buoyancy or night, on Coron's wrecks and reefs, then certify.
