Open up the Galapagos' signature dives with the PADI Advanced Open Water course, run from Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island. Across five adventure dives you extend your depth limit to 30 metres and build the navigation and drift skills needed for current-swept sites like Gordon Rocks, where hammerhead schools gather. You finish certified to dive to 30 metres and ready for the archipelago's best sites.
The PADI Advanced Open Water course comprises five adventure dives, with the deep and navigation dives mandatory. Completing it raises your depth limit to 30 metres and is effectively required to dive the Galapagos' flagship current sites.
Training runs from Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz across the local sites: North Seymour and Mosquera for navigation and drift, deeper Cousins Rock for the deep dive, and current-prone Gordon Rocks as a target site once your skills are ready. The June-to-November upwelling season brings the strongest schooling action.
