Course overview

Build toward the Galapagos' signature dives with the SSI Advanced Adventurer course, run from Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island. Across five adventure dives you extend your range to 30 metres and develop the navigation and drift skills needed for current-swept sites like Gordon Rocks. You finish with the SSI Advanced Adventurer rating and the confidence for the archipelago's best diving.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to 30 metres
• Navigate by compass and natural references in current
• Handle drift entries and exits on current-affected sites
• Improve buoyancy, trim and air management at depth
• Sample five different specialty adventure dives
• Gain confidence for demanding sites like Gordon Rocks

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior)
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Basic swimming ability and comfort in open water
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep & navigation dives

   Complete the deep and navigation adventure dives plus one elective, building depth and current confidence.
2. Day2
   Elective adventures

   Finish two further specialty adventure dives at sites like North Seymour, Mosquera or Gordon Rocks, then certify.
