Course overview

Build on your certification with the PADI Advanced Open Water course in Hikkaduwa, which extends your depth limit to 30 metres across five adventure dives. Diving the town's coral gardens, deeper reef ledges and shipwrecks on Sri Lanka's south coast, you complete required Deep and Navigation dives plus three of your choice. You finish certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, ready for a wider range of sites.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to 30 metres on the deep adventure dive
• Navigate underwater by compass and natural references
• Build experience across three further adventure-dive disciplines
• Improve buoyancy, trim and air management
• Apply deeper-water dive planning and gas management
• Gain confidence on reef, wreck and night sites

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior Advanced) or 15 for full certification
• PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
• Comfortable with basic scuba skills
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep & navigation dives

   Complete the required Deep dive toward 30 metres and the Underwater Navigation dive on Hikkaduwa's deeper reef sites.
2. Day2
   Adventure dives & certification

   Three elective adventure dives, such as wreck, night or buoyancy, on local reefs and wrecks to complete certification.
