The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course on Karnataka's Murdeshwar coast builds on your certification and takes you deeper on Netrani Island's reef. Across five adventure dives, including the required deep and underwater navigation dives, you extend your limit to 30 metres and sample specialties such as fish identification on the island's fish-rich reef. You finish certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver.
The PADI Advanced Open Water course requires no exam. It is built around five adventure dives, two of them the mandatory Deep and Underwater Navigation dives. Each adventure dive can later count as the first dive of the matching PADI specialty course.
Adventure dives run on the boat trips to Netrani Island from Murdeshwar. The reef slopes from about 5 to 30 metres, which suits the deep dive, and the clear water holds barracuda, moray eels and reef fish for a fish-identification dive. October to April brings the calmest, clearest conditions.
