Course overview

Try breathing underwater for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience in Ambon on the Banda Sea. Under direct instructor supervision you learn a few basic skills in shallow water and then make a guided dive to a maximum of 12 metres over a gentle local reef, no certification or prior experience needed.

The PADI Discover Scuba pathway

PADI Discover Scuba Diving is an introductory experience, not a certification. The skills you practise can be credited toward the PADI Open Water Diver course if you decide to continue, and a PADI professional supervises you throughout.

Where you'll dive in Banda Sea

First-time dives use the calm, shallow reef margins of Ambon Bay, where warm 27-29°C water, gentle conditions and abundant critter life make an ideal introduction. The bay is sheltered and diveable year-round.
