Try scuba for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience in Hikkaduwa, on Sri Lanka's gentle south coast. Under direct instructor supervision you learn a few basic skills in shallow water before exploring the calm house reef, where turtles, octopuses, seahorses and colourful reef fish are common sights. No certification or experience is needed, which makes it a good introduction to diving.
PADI Discover Scuba Diving is an introductory experience, not a certification. The skills and dive you complete can later credit toward the PADI Open Water Diver course if you decide to continue.
Your dive takes place on Hikkaduwa's sheltered house reef in around 12 metres, where calm, warm 27-29°C water and frequent sightings of turtles, octopuses and reef fish make a good first scuba experience.
