Course overview

Try scuba diving for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience in Komodo, a guided introduction that lets you breathe underwater without committing to a full course. After a short briefing and confined-water practice you dive a sheltered reef under close instructor supervision, surrounded by tropical fish and coral. It is an easy first taste of one of the world's great dive destinations.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater on scuba
• Equalise and descend gently to shallow depth
• Clear your mask and recover your regulator
• Move and maintain basic buoyancy underwater
• Communicate with simple hand signals
• Dive a sheltered reef under instructor supervision

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• No experience or swimming certification required
• Reasonable health and comfort in water
• Brief medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)

   Briefing, skills and dive

   Meet your instructor for a safety briefing, practise a few basic skills in shallow water, then enjoy a guided dive on a calm reef full of fish.
