Try scuba for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience at Kovalam, breathing underwater in the warm Arabian Sea under the one-to-one care of a PADI professional. After a short briefing and confined-water practice you make a guided dive over the Kovalam reef to around 12 metres. It is a low-pressure way to find out whether diving is for you, with no certification required.
PADI Discover Scuba Diving is an introductory experience, not a certification. The skills you practise can be credited toward the PADI Open Water Diver course if you decide to get certified later.
The experience dive takes place over the sheltered Kovalam reef in the Arabian Sea. Warm 27-30°C water and the calm post-monsoon season, roughly October to March, make for an easy first dive among reef fish, the occasional turtle, barracuda, octopus, lionfish, moray eels and stingrays.
