Take your first breaths underwater with the SSI Try Scuba experience at Kovalam, guided one-to-one by an SSI professional in the warm Arabian Sea. A short briefing and shallow-water practice lead into a supervised dive over the Kovalam reef to around 12 metres. No certification or swimming background is needed, so it works well as a taster.
SSI Try Scuba is an introductory experience rather than a certification. If you continue, the session credits toward the SSI Open Water Diver course, and your progress is recorded in the SSI digital training record.
The dive is over the sheltered Kovalam reef in the Arabian Sea. The warm 27-30°C water and calm post-monsoon season, about October to March, suit complete beginners.
