Course overview

Try breathing underwater for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience at Khao Lak, the access point for the Similan Islands. Under the close supervision of a PADI professional you complete two introductory ocean dives on a sheltered local reef to around 12 metres, a good taster before committing to a full certification.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater using scuba equipment
• Equalise your ears and clear your mask
• Recover a regulator and manage basic buoyancy
• Move and communicate with simple hand signals
• Follow your instructor safely on a guided reef dive
• Understand basic scuba safety rules

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable health (medical questionnaire required)
• Able to be comfortable in water
