Take your first underwater breaths with the SSI Try Scuba experience at Khao Lak, the launch point for Similan Islands diving. Guided closely by an SSI professional, you complete a pool or confined-water session and an open-water dive to around 12 metres on a sheltered reef. It is a relaxed introduction with no certification prerequisites.
SSI Try Scuba is an introductory programme rather than a certification, and the skills you complete can be credited toward the SSI Open Water Diver course through the SSI digital system.
The experience uses the sheltered local reefs off Khao Lak, where shallow, settled water in the November-to-April season suits newcomers, ahead of any future trips to the Similan national park.
