Start your dive career with the PADI Divemaster course, the first professional rating, based at Khao Lak near the Similan Islands. You build stamina and supervision skills on local reefs and, conditions permitting, on national-park day trips and liveaboards. You learn to guide certified divers and assist instructors across some of Thailand's more demanding sites.
PADI Divemaster is the first rung of the PADI professional ladder and qualifies you to guide certified divers, assist instructors and supervise activities. It is the required prerequisite for the PADI Instructor Development Course.
Skill and rescue work is based on the calm local reefs off Khao Lak. National-park trips to the Similans, Koh Bon and Koh Tachai during the November-to-April season give candidates real experience guiding divers in moderate currents.
