Course overview

Build the CPR and first-aid foundation every rescue diver needs with the PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) course in Moalboal, Cebu. This non-diving, classroom-based programme teaches primary and secondary care to international resuscitation standards and pairs well with the Rescue Diver course run along Panagsama Beach. You finish this scuba diving course with a recognised emergency-care certification valid for both diving and everyday situations.

What you’ll learn

• Perform CPR and rescue breathing on an adult manikin
• Manage a non-breathing patient and use barrier devices
• Control serious bleeding and treat for shock
• Recognise and respond to choking and spinal injury
• Provide secondary care: illness and injury assessment, splinting and bandaging
• Understand AED use and the emergency response sequence

Prerequisites

• No diving experience or prior certification required
• Open to all ages (course content can be tailored for younger participants)
• No swimming requirement – this is a classroom course
• No medical clearance required for the non-diving training
