Extend your bottom time on the Seychelles' deeper granite walls with the PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver specialty, one of the most popular specialties in diving. On Mahe it lets you stay longer on sites like the Shark Bank pinnacles and outer reefs while diving with greater safety margins. The course is largely theory and can be completed without any dives, leaving you certified to dive with enriched air up to 40 percent oxygen.
PADI Enriched Air Diver can be completed as a knowledge-only specialty or with optional enriched-air dives, certifying you to use nitrox mixes up to 40 percent oxygen. It counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
Enriched air is most useful on Mahe's deeper granite pinnacles such as the Shark Bank, where longer no-stop times mean more time with reef sharks and pelagics in 26-30C water. The clearest deep-site conditions fall in the April-May and September-November windows.
