The PADI Night Diver specialty shows you Koh Tao's reefs after dark. Over three night dives at calm sites such as Japanese Gardens and Twins, you learn to navigate and communicate by torchlight while looking for octopus and sleeping parrotfish, with bioluminescence glowing at every fin kick.

The PADI Night Diver pathway

The PADI Night Diver specialty counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating and can credit toward Advanced Open Water. It builds confidence with torch communication and low-light navigation.

Where you'll dive in Koh Tao

Night dives use Koh Tao's sheltered reefs like Japanese Gardens and Twins, where easy entries and calm 28-30C water suit after-dark diving. Nocturnal life includes octopus, hunting lionfish and bioluminescent plankton; conditions are best March to May.
