Course overview

Earn your PADI Open Water Diver certification in Fiji and gain the worldwide qualification to dive independently to 18 metres. Training on the warm, sheltered soft-coral reefs of Beqa Lagoon, you progress from confined-water skills to four open-water dives on sites such as Pearl Rock and Seven Sisters. You finish certified for life and ready to explore Fiji's reefs and beyond.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, use and maintain scuba equipment
• Clear a flooded mask and recover the regulator
• Achieve and control neutral buoyancy
• Perform controlled ascents and safety stops
• Manage out-of-air situations and buddy procedures
• Plan and execute dives within recreational limits

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior Open Water Diver) or 15
• Able to swim 200m and float / tread water for 10 minutes
• No prior diving experience required
• Complete a diver medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if indicated)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Complete knowledge development and practise core skills in confined water.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives 1 & 2

   Apply your skills on the first two open-water dives at a sheltered Beqa Lagoon reef such as Pearl Rock.
3. Day3
   Open-water dives 3 & 4 & certification

   Complete the final two open-water dives, the exam and registration as a PADI Open Water Diver.
