The PADI Open Water Diver course on Mauritius's sheltered west coast earns you the world's most recognised entry-level scuba certification. Over three to four days from Flic-en-Flac you master core skills in the calm lagoon, then complete four open-water training dives to 18 metres on reefs like Aquarium and Snake Reef, meeting turtles, clownfish and reef fish. You finish certified to dive independently with a buddy worldwide.
PADI Open Water Diver is the most widely recognised entry-level certification in the world, qualifying you to dive to 18 metres with a buddy. It is the prerequisite for the PADI Advanced Open Water course and all specialties.
Skills are honed in the sheltered Flic-en-Flac lagoon, then applied at shallow west-coast reefs such as Aquarium and Snake Reef, where calm 23-28C water and good visibility, best November to April, make ideal conditions for new divers.
