The PADI Rescue Diver course in Cozumel teaches you to prevent and manage dive emergencies in the kind of drift conditions you will meet on Palancar and Santa Rosa Wall. You will practise self-rescue, tired-diver tows and unconscious-diver recoveries in clear Caribbean water before running full rescue scenarios on the reef.
PADI Rescue Diver runs on eLearning, uses realistic open-water scenarios, includes Project AWARE, and requires current EFR. It is a prerequisite for the Divemaster rating and is issued as a PADI card.
Rescue skills are practised on Cozumel's calmer reefs like Cielo and Paradise (8-20 m), then scenarios run on sites with moderate drift to mimic real conditions on Santa Rosa Wall. The warm, clear water lets you focus on technique rather than fighting cold or low visibility.
