The PADI Rescue Diver course makes you a more confident, self-reliant buddy, ready to prevent and manage dive emergencies. Zanzibar's calm, accessible reefs off Stone Town and Mnemba Atoll suit rehearsing tired-diver tows, surface rescues and missing-diver searches in warm 25-29C water.
PADI Rescue Diver requires current EFR (CPR and first aid) training, which you can complete alongside the course. It is a prerequisite for the Divemaster rating and counts toward the Master Scuba Diver recognition.
Rescue scenarios use the sheltered shallows and gently sloping reefs near Stone Town and Mnemba Atoll. Calm July-to-February conditions and warm water let you focus on technique rather than fighting the sea.
