The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course builds your ability to spot, prevent and handle dive emergencies, making you a stronger dive buddy. On Zanzibar's calm reefs off Stone Town and Mnemba Atoll you rehearse stress recognition, tows and unresponsive-diver rescues in warm, forgiving water.

The SSI Rescue Diver pathway

SSI pairs Diver Stress & Rescue with the React Right first-aid programme to meet the emergency-care requirement. The rating is part of the SSI continuing-education path and a prerequisite toward the Divemaster professional level.

Scenarios take place on the calm, sheltered reefs near Stone Town and around Mnemba Atoll, where the settled July-to-February season and warm 25-29C water keep the focus on rescue technique.
