The PADI Scuba Diver certification is a subset of the Open Water course, a good fit if you have limited time in Coron but want a real qualification. Over two days in warm 27-29C water you cover the first sections of theory and confined water plus open-water dives to a maximum of 12 metres on sheltered sites such as the Lusong Gunboat. You finish certified to dive under the supervision of a dive professional.
PADI Scuba Diver is a recognised certification and a partial completion of the Open Water Diver course. You can upgrade to full Open Water Diver later by finishing the remaining knowledge, confined-water and open-water dives, which extends your limit to 18 metres and independent buddy diving.
Scuba Diver training uses Coron's sheltered, shallow sites in warm 27-29C water. The Lusong Gunboat and similar shallow wrecks give you a memorable yet safe setting during the November-to-May season.
