Course overview

The SSI Scuba Diver certification is a shorter subset of the Open Water Diver course, well suited to a brief Coron trip while still earning a real qualification. Over two days in warm 27-29C water you complete the early theory and confined-water modules plus open-water dives to a maximum of 12 metres on sheltered sites such as the Lusong Gunboat. You finish certified to dive under the guidance of a dive professional.

• Master core skills including mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Control buoyancy and equalise correctly
• Dive safely to 12 metres with a dive professional
• Plan a dive with a buddy and a professional
• Apply basic safety and emergency procedures

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• No prior certification required
• Able to float and swim a short distance
• Complete a medical questionnaire; some conditions require a doctor's sign-off

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Complete the SSI digital theory and confined-water sessions to master the core skills.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives

   Make two open-water training dives to a maximum of 12 metres on sheltered sites such as the Lusong Gunboat, then certify.
