Course overview

Explore one of the Andaman Sea's best-known shipwrecks with the PADI Wreck Diver specialty in Krabi, where the King Cruiser ferry wreck near the Phi Phi sites makes an excellent training site. Over four dives you learn to survey, map and safely navigate the outside of wrecks while spotting the lionfish, barracuda and moray eels that now shelter there. You finish certified as a PADI Wreck Diver.

What you’ll learn

• Survey and map a wreck and identify potential hazards
• Use guidelines and reels for navigation around a wreck
• Avoid entanglement and silt-out while diving near structure
• Assess wreck stability and penetration risks
• Apply specialised buoyancy and trim near a wreck

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water (or qualifying equivalent)
• Comfortable with buoyancy control and basic navigation
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first wreck dives

   Cover wreck-diving planning and complete your first survey dives on a local Andaman wreck.
2. Day2
   Mapping & navigation

   Run reel and guideline navigation and map the wreck on dives at the King Cruiser site.
