Earn the PADI Wreck Diver specialty in Trincomalee, a region known for the WWII wreck of HMS Hermes lying offshore and several smaller wrecks along the Nilaveli shoreline. Over four dives you learn to survey, map and safely explore wrecks, building the skills to dive these historic structures responsibly. It is one of the most rewarding specialties to complete on Sri Lanka's east coast.
PADI Wreck Diver counts as one of the five specialties toward the Master Scuba Diver rating. The deep HMS Hermes wreck is an advanced technical dive, so the specialty here typically uses shallower, more accessible wrecks for training.
Trincomalee is best known for the HMS Hermes wreck offshore and shallower wrecks north of Nilaveli, so wreck students have structures at a range of depths to train on during the calm May-to-September window, with April and October still diveable on either side.
