Course overview

The SSI Deep Diving specialty on Koh Tao takes you to the recreational limit of 40 metres, exploring deeper pinnacle sites such as Chumphon Pinnacle and Sail Rock where the reef gives way to open blue. You learn deep-dive planning, gas management and narcosis awareness over a series of progressively deeper dives.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent
• Comfort at depth from a prior deep adventure dive recommended
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & planning

   Study the SSI deep-diving theory, gas management and narcosis recognition.
2. Day1
   Dives toward 30m

   Begin with progressively deeper dives toward 30 metres at Chumphon Pinnacle.
3. Day1
   Dives toward 40m

   Continue to the 40-metre limit at a pinnacle such as Sail Rock, practising narcosis checks and gas management.
