Course overview

Reach the deeper reefs of Moalboal with the SSI Deep Diving specialty in Cebu, where the Panagsama wall and the offshore Sunken Island pinnacle drop well beyond 30 metres. This scuba diving course covers deep-dive planning, gas management and narcosis awareness on sites that fall into the blue near Pescador Island. You finish with the SSI Deep Diving certification to the recreational limit of 40 metres.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct dives to recreational depths to 40 metres
• Manage gas supply and no-decompression limits at depth
• Recognise and manage nitrogen narcosis
• Deploy a surface marker buoy and use a reference line
• Account for depth effects on light, colour and air consumption
• Monitor your buddy and execute proper safety stops

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent with suitable logged dives
• Good buoyancy and air management
• Diver medical questionnaire / physician's clearance where indicated

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep planning

   Academic review and two progressively deeper dives on the Panagsama reef wall with narcosis-awareness checks.
2. Day2
   To 40 metres

   Two deeper dives toward 40 metres at Sunken Island or the Pescador Island walls, with DSMB practice.
