The SSI Try Scuba experience at Netrani Island on Karnataka's Murdeshwar coast gives you your first breaths underwater. An instructor briefs you, helps you practise a few basic skills, then guides you on a shallow dive over the island's reef among reef fish and coral. It is a relaxed, no-pressure introduction to scuba for complete beginners.
SSI Try Scuba is an introductory experience rather than a certification. If you continue, the experience can be credited toward the SSI Open Water Diver course through the SSI digital learning system.
Try Scuba sessions use the sheltered, shallow parts of Netrani Island's reef, reached by boat from Murdeshwar. Clear, warm water and easy conditions in the October-to-April season suit a first-time diver.
