SSI Try Scuba is a relaxed introduction to diving for complete beginners, with no certification required, set in the warm, calm shallows off Nilaveli. With an instructor at your side you practise a few basic skills, then make a guided dive on the gentle reefs of Pigeon Island Marine Park, meeting colourful reef fish and corals on your first underwater outing.
SSI Try Scuba is an introductory experience rather than a certification, and the skills can credit toward the SSI Open Water Diver course if you continue your training.
Try Scuba takes place in the calm, shallow waters off Nilaveli and on the gentle Pigeon Island Marine Park reefs, where settled seas and 28-30C water during the calm May-to-September window, with April and October still diveable on either side make a welcoming first dive.
