Earn your first SSI professional rating with the SSI Divemaster programme in Bohol Panglao, which qualifies you to guide certified divers and support instructors. You are based at Alona Beach, with internship dives at Balicasag, Pamilacan and the Doljo and Napaling reefs, building genuine leadership experience on the Philippines' walls and coral gardens in warm 27-29C water.
SSI builds its professional path in stages, with the Dive Guide rating completed before the Divemaster rating, all tracked on the SSI digital platform. Certifying as an SSI Divemaster lets you guide certified divers and assist instructors, and it is the prerequisite for SSI instructor training.
Internship guiding takes place across the Doljo and Napaling house reefs and the deeper walls of Balicasag Island Marine Sanctuary and Pamilacan, with turtles and schooling tropical fish providing realistic guiding conditions. Calm December-to-May seas and warm 27-29C water suit the extended in-water training.
