Course overview

Gain the skills to respond to a medical emergency with the SSI React Right course in Komodo, a combined CPR, first-aid, AED and oxygen-provider programme. This is a non-diving classroom course, and it provides the first-aid foundation required before the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course and professional ratings. It is a practical step to take before you dive Komodo's stronger current sites.

What you’ll learn

• Perform CPR and rescue breathing on an adult
• Use an AED and manage a non-breathing patient
• Administer emergency oxygen to an injured diver
• Control bleeding, treat for shock and manage spinal injuries
• Conduct primary and secondary care assessments
• Respond calmly and methodically in an emergency

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• Open to non-divers and divers alike
• No minimum diving age (suitable for all levels)
• Willingness to practise hands-on rescue and first-aid skills

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   CPR and primary care

   Learn and practise CPR, rescue breathing, AED use and emergency oxygen delivery.
2. Day2
   First aid and assessment

   Practise first-aid assessments and injury care, then complete the evaluation and certification.
