The SSI Night Diving specialty lets you experience the reef after sunset off Mauritius's west coast. Diving from Flic-en-Flac, you build the light-handling, signalling and navigation skills needed to dive confidently in the dark, meeting nocturnal creatures such as octopus and moray eels. SSI's digital theory lets you prepare in advance and spend the evening in the water.
SSI Night Diving is delivered digitally for pre-trip study and counts toward SSI Specialty Diver and Advanced Adventurer ratings. The certification is stored in the SSI app.
Calm west-coast reefs off Flic-en-Flac become active nocturnal habitats after dark, home to octopus, morays and hunting fish. The settled November-to-April season gives the comfortable, calm seas that suit night diving.
