The SSI Night & Limited Visibility specialty shows you a different side of Rasdhoo Atoll, exploring reefs that come alive once darkness falls and nocturnal predators take over. You build the lighting, signalling and navigation skills to dive confidently after dark on familiar local reefs, and you finish certified to enjoy night diving across the Maldives.
The SSI Night & Limited Visibility specialty is delivered through SSI's digital platform and counts toward the Specialty Diver and Master Diver recognition ratings. It combines night diving with limited-visibility skills in one program.
Night dives use calmer, familiar sites such as Holhi Faru and Veligandu East, run at slack tide to keep currents gentle after dark. Once the lights come on you will find hunting morays, sleeping turtles, crustaceans and reef fish, with the most settled evening conditions from November to April.
