Course overview

The SSI Scuba Diver course in Rasdhoo Atoll earns you a recognised certification in less time, qualifying you to dive to 12 metres under the supervision of a dive professional. It suits a shorter trip: it covers the first portion of the Open Water program on the island's calm reefs and upgrades directly to full Open Water Diver later.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, check and use scuba equipment
• Perform core safety skills including mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Maintain neutral buoyancy and good trim
• Plan and communicate a dive with a buddy and guide
• Dive to 12 metres under professional supervision

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (junior) or 15
• Adequate comfort and basic swimming ability
• No prior certification required
• Diver medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)
