The SSI Wreck Diving specialty on Koh Tao is built around the HTMS Sattakut, a scuttled navy ship that has become one of the Gulf's best-known artificial reefs. You learn to survey and navigate the wreck while marine life such as grouper, batfish and barracuda patrols its decks.
The SSI Wreck Diving specialty runs through the digital MySSI platform and counts toward the SSI Specialty Diver and Master Diver recognition ratings. It covers survey and safe limited-penetration techniques.
The specialty is taught on the HTMS Sattakut, a navy vessel sunk off Koh Tao that now hosts grouper, batfish and barracuda. The Gulf is warm at 28-30C and divable year-round, with the best wreck visibility from March to May.
