The SSI Wreck Diving specialty counts toward SSI Specialty Diver and Master Diver recognition and is delivered through the SSI digital platform. It focuses on non-penetration and limited-penetration wreck skills; full overhead diving requires technical training.
Wreck training runs on suitable structures and reef sites off the Kovalam coast in the Arabian Sea. The calm post-monsoon season, about October to March, and warm 27-30°C water give the best conditions for deeper exploration.
