

The SSI Wreck Diving specialty in Papua New Guinea certifies you to explore the region's WWII shipwrecks and reef-encrusted hulls safely. Diving accessible wreck sites where sunken vessels have become living reefs, you master survey, navigation and hazard management under instructor guidance. It gives you the skills for one of the world's great wreck-diving destinations.
The SSI Wreck Diving specialty is delivered with SSI digital materials and counts toward higher SSI recognition ratings. Training covers safe recreational wreck diving with only limited, supervised penetration.
You dive accessible Papua New Guinea wreck sites where hulls sit on or near reef in warm 27-30°C water, with deeper wrecks reaching around 30 m. The calmest, clearest conditions come in the dry season from May to October.
