The Mares Air Control combines your alternate air source and your BCD inflator into a single unit. Instead of routing a separate octopus hose plus a standard inflator hose, the Air Control merges both functions, which means one less hose to clip, route and manage on your dive.

It feeds off your low-pressure inflator line, so the alternate second stage sits exactly where your inflator already is, on your left shoulder. In an out-of-air situation you keep your primary regulator and donate your own working second stage, then breathe from the Air Control, a workflow many instructors find cleaner than fishing around for a stowed octopus.
